I don't know, but I always envision a mix of orange colors when I listen to deerhunter. It could just be the cover of microcastle, or the fact that I feel its Halloween music.

It looks very tribal and the brown makes it look too earthy or rural. Deerhunter typically use bold colours like orange (Microcastle), pink and silver (Cryptograms) or even fluorescent orange (Fluorescent Grey EP). Their aesthetic is often very violently coloured, your print reminds me more of Bon Iver maybe and cabins in the winter?
I think it's a terrific print just the same, it just doesn't capture Deerhunter for me personally.

Ok, cool, all relevant feedback. I wish I'd been more organised so I could've incorporated some of it into my design, hehe!
It's interesting what you say about colour; initially I pictured it very much as a pumpkin orange halloween album but deviated from that as the project moved on. I can't explicitly say why, it just sort of happened as a result of experimentation and abstraction of ideas & the music. I also found it hard to fit in with their existing 'look' as the more research I did, the more I noticed how different it all is (whilst there is usually an element of nostalgia, this is represented in a number of contrasting ways). What do you think about this viewpoint?
And would other colours change how you feel about the poster design?

I think pastels are cool. Use pink, orange, pastel yellow, or a combination?

Hi Guys,
I've chucked together a couple of short screen grabs from my interactive proposal.
What it is is basically, a re-release of Microcastle, as an iPhone application that is an interactive media player, that is, the application plays the album.
Here I am showing you the interactive for Little Kids (the yellow one) and the title track, Microcastle. In Little Kids, you can move your fingers across the screen to set the matches alight. In Microcastle, you can 'open' eyes by touching unopened eyelid drawings.
I'd love some feedback. Stuff such as: • How do you feel about the overall design/look? Could this be improved, and if so, how? • Is the song communicated to you through the visuals? • What is the strongest visual element? • Do you understand the interactive directions as shown in the image? In what way? • How do you feel this sits with Deerhunter as a band moving into the future? Could you see something like this being incorporated into future releases? Why?
Thanks very much!
(:

Love it! It looks like a lot of fun. I think the lyrics appearing is gnarly! The instructions seem very concise and comprehensible.
The design still looks tribal, but it looks like too much fun, I don't care. I'd like to see this in a future release, if Deerhunter released an iPhone app, I'd probably purchase an iPhone. When Atlas Sound had all those releases on vinyl (Fractal Trax), I confess I bought a vinyl player just to hear them.
What's the app look like for "Twilight at Carbon Lake"?
Edit: (Fuck I want this imaginary app, this idea is supreme.) Edit 2: You better get props for all this work. As Rachel Zoe would say, "This is ba-nanas.")

Hey, thanks you guys!
This is the interactive for Twilight. Is that your favourite song on the album?
Yeah, I'm not quite sure I achieved what I set out to re: the whole Deerhunter branding thing, but heck, I tried. Hopefully my ideas are strong enough to get me an OK mark.

Ohhh, that looks like shitloads of fun!
What about "Neither of Us, Uncertainly"? Or all of the rest?
(I'm sorry, I just really love hypothetical Deerhunter games)

Hehe, well I won't put the whole thing up here; I wanted to garner some feedback but you seem to be the only one who's really interested!
I dunno if Deerhunter would like it, as I'm familiar with their previous releases on tape etc., that was partly my motivation for choosing them but as I said before, I not certain I wad entirely successful in what I set out to achieve.
I might be making some Deerhunter screen prints in the next week though, probably in brown/red/navy with gold overprint detail, so if anyone's interested, let me know.
