Mogwai rules.anyway. found this lead on tweetmeme lumping DH into the same 'lofi" category as Wavves.

Haha yeah, awesome amount of gear, that video also made me think what would Mogwai sound like without it all and some reason an image of them with guitars with just high treble and no bass, so they sound sort of 'plinky plinky' (if you get what I mean) came to mind, anyway...Such a good band live though, I also heard them playing in a basement/practice space in Glasgow once too, when I was just walking along the street. less_cunning wrote: anyway. found this lead on tweetmeme lumping DH into the same 'lofi" category as Wavves. I dunno, in that description it is sort of true if your talking about Pavement's type of lo-fi, I get what you mean though, it is a bit stupid, but if anything they are at at opposite sides of he scale

I just realized that photo is from when I saw them in Glasgow, that must mean Stuart is a fan, cool stuff.

You know what Stuart? I like you. You're not like the other people, here, in the trailer park.

(i have a busted-ass Vestax 4 track i NEVER use. anyone wanna give me $100 bucks for it before this post-grunge lo-fi trend takes off???) but you know its frustrating to read these lazy comparisons. but maybe i'm wrong?

Pretty much or indie-rcok has become lo-fi, which is a good and a bad thing I guess, but when people start self consciously doing well that's a bit shit. Lo-fi should essentially mean bedroom recordings but when your going to a studio with your Tascam well that's when it's fucked up. It's definitely lazy comparisons aswell, journalism is plagued with them everyday.

indeed. anyway. i just posted that Mogwai gear thing becuz you know i think its rad that everybody in Mogwai uses the EHX SMMwH & that one guy in the photo uses two. sort of similar to what DH does w/ everyone having a Digidelay i suppose.
i've recently noticed how Bradford & Lockett sometimes wear vintage Coca-Cola shirts. i hope THAT becomes a trend becuz i got lots of them in my closet. anyway. those RCE shirts look really awesome. i wish i didn't already have like a couple of yellow & blue tees.

I should wear coca-cola t-shirts I'm addicted to it, unfortunately I wouldn't want to be sporting such an evil corporation...I only give them my money in the dark.

ha ha. there is no such thing a good corporation my friend. support the workers. not the corporation.
anyway. i am very happy that DH is doing well & that they have an awesome EP coming out & they are touring the globe. they all worked very hard for it & are extremely talented. they deserve it. i wonder what the next couple of months, & the rest of the year, is going to look like for them.
