I started a project about last year called Grace Budd where I played around with tape hiss and my very old acoustic guitar. I never went very far with it. Recorded about 10 songs.

A few months ago I started another called Spiid. I play with loops and sampling.

I don't have myspace's for either.

if you like the sound of live drums then just use shure sm57s and some type of kick mic. if you're looking for a professional recording sound, use condensers and ribbon mics.

i don't really know much technical stuff about recording because i suck at it and don't know how to do it, but ribbon mics sound amazing.

I am in a one person audio/video act, Nova Scotian Arms (http://novascotianarms.blogspot.com).

I use Logic Express on an eMac to record with.
I've got an OLD Peavey 800 mixer with excellent reverb that I run my stuff through before going into the computer.
I try to mess around with different tunings/string combinations, to various degrees of success.
I also try to mess around with different sound manipulation freewarez like Hyperupic & SoundHack.

I have a blog that I try and post things fairly regularly on.
I'm also interested in doing some online collaboration type things with anyone who might be interested...

Wow. Some really good stuff here. Boo And Boo Too is killer. I'm totally gonna d/l your record. I really like Nova Scotian Arms and Collarbones as well.

I have a 4 track and a Fostex MR-8 and an ever growing arsenal of pedals and mics. I really like recording, but it seems like the deeper you get into it, the more shit you need to buy. Pre-amps, pop filters, noise suppressors, it never ends. Both bands I'm in try to do everything analog, and only use the computer for processing.

I downloaded a cracked copy of Abelton Live 7 (what Bradford uses for Atlas Sound) so I could expand a little, but the shit is seemingly impossible to master. The drums sound awful. I really need the manual I guess. It can do a ton of stuff, but the learning curve is such a bitch. Anybody here use it?

In 2 bands currently, working on joining a third.

http://www.myspace.com/organoflight - A work in progress.

http://www.myspace.com/gunsnrosaparks - I've been playing guitar in this hardcore band for almost 5 years.
