If a band plays your town it should be an honor, and not something that is expected.

Dude, try finding good bands to see when you live in Saskatchewan! I almost drove to Vancouver to see a show on the current tour, but was too broke...and it's like a twenty hour drive. Still have fingers crossed that DH will come somewhere near my city, would lose my mind!

Eh? Where?

I know, right? I followed Deerhunter across the mid-west for 4 days over the summer and I would gladly do it again, if given the chance. I guess he can't be bothered with the extra $10 of gas.

I'd say fuck Broadcast, if anything, because I doubt B-to-the-rad had anything to do with it.

i respect the notion of someone not wanting to drive an hour to a private college to see a show. esp. when if they live somewhere that gets lots of killer shows.

Woo, curb your sense of entitlement. It was only about 45 minutes from the Twin Cities anyway. And it was fucking free! So if it was in Mpls and free and you got a free drink you'd probably complain that the drink was too strong.

Broadcast was great, Atlas Sound was amazing, and I got to tell Brad I love his work and shook his hand, and he patted me on the shoulder and back. What a sweet guy.

Let me just say again that the show was fucking great. Totally worth the drive. And if you chose not to go, blame no one but yourself. Next time we'll carpool! :)

I don't think that's too much to ask when you live in one of the largest metropolitan areas in the country. Carleton is located in the boonies. I don't see how this was a sensible show for fans or the band. Logos is one of my favorite albums, but I can't afford to drive an two hours round trip unless it's free

I guess. I would say that if you're a major city, you shouldn't have to view it as a privilege, since it's economically more sensible for a band to play in a major city than a boonie (unless you're being showered with private college cash).

It was free? Well, that would have made it worthwhile. You'd think they'd advertise the free-ness of it more explicitly on the school's website. With all the great shows this month and coming up, I couldn't justify driving two hours and paying for a ticket, but if it was free, then I can't blame anyone but myself for not going. Why the heck would they travel this far to play a free show? I suppose Carleton can probably afford that with their $40k+ tuition charge. What I don't understand is why they would play a show in the boonies and not bother coming to a Minneapolis or St. Paul venue the next day like Fuck Buttons (who I am PUMPED to see), especially if the show starts at 9 PM. A lot of people work the next day.

Oh well, David Bazan tonight!

With all due respect, you seem like a bit of a "crybaby".

I'm listening to Bradcast meets Broadcast right now, and I think the slower stuff is okay. Never been a huge fan of sped up sounds.
